REGULATIONS


29th Maratona d’Italia Enzo Ferrari memorial ( Competitive Marathon)
Half Marathon ( Non- Competitive Half marathon)
30 km race (Non-Competitive 30km race)

Date of competitions: Sunday 9 October 2016
Departure time: 9.30 am
Departure point – Single start for all competitions: Maranello (MO) opposite Ferrari Museum
Half-marathon finish: Modena, Parco Ferrari
30KM finish: Soliera (MO), Castello Campori
Marathon finish: Carpi (MO), Piazza Martiri

REQUIREMENTS FOR TAKING PART IN MARATHON (Competitive) HALF-MARATHON/30KM ( Non-Competitive)

• Athletes resident abroad holding cards of Foreign Athletics Federations, members of the IAAF for 2016
The athlete must indicate the IAAF or member Federation card number and the selected competition on the entry form. Send a copy (front and back) of the IAAF or member Federation card together with the entry form.

• Non card-holding athletes resident abroad
In compliance with Italian law on safety in sport, when entering, the athletes must send the health form provided by the organizers and available on the website duly COMPLETED IN BLOCK CAPITALS, SIGNED and STAMPED by a doctor, in compliance with the laws applicable in their countries. UNSTAMPED and illegible forms will not be accepted.

The athlete with no rd-holding entered in the non-competitive section shall be entitled to all the services included in the entry fee.
He/she will be included in the general order of arrival of the competition, i.e., that published on the TDS website.
The athlete entered in the non-competitive race section can take part in the special rankings of the Open Marathon Veteran Amateur Championship and Can you do the 42? – my first marathon.

CLUB CUMULATIVE ENTRIES
Cumulative entries (minimum 10 people) will be made available to Sports Clubs and must reach us by 30/09/2016 at the latest on the special form available from the Maratona d’Italia Organizing Secretariat website. Within that date, for every 10 athletes entered in the same competition, 1 free entry will be granted. After that date, NO further changes or supplements can be accepted to the list of entries and the fee applicable at the time will be charged.


LAST ENTRY DATE
Entries can be made until 12.00 pm on 6/10/2016.

ENTRY CONFIRMATION
The entry confirmation will only be sent to persons providing a correct email address. Entrants can check their entries on the website starting on 1 July 2016, and in any case only 5 days after sending the form.

SPORTS FAIR – EXPO
The sports fair and expo will be staged in Carpi (MO) in Piazza Martiri at the following times:
Friday 07/10/2016 from 4 pm to 8 pm
Saturday 08/10/2016 from 10 am to 8 pm
Sunday 09/10/2016 from 10 am to 3 pm

WITHDRAWAL OF BIB NUMBER -CHIPS - COMPETITION PACK
Bib numbers, chips and competition packs can be collected at the Sports fair.
Bibs/chips and prize bags will not be distributed at Maranello on Sunday before the start.
Unless the athlete wishing to withdraw the bib is up to date with registration and/or medical certification, he/she will not be allowed to withdraw the bib, nor authorized to take part in the competition
The bib is strictly personal and cannot be transferred or tampered with.
The bib must be worn on the chest in a fully visible way and must not be folded over, while the chip must be fastened on a shoe or ankle.
The chip must be returned after the competition.
Any chips not returned on the Sunday must be sent to the secretariat by 31/10/2016, otherwise the sum of 20.00 euro will be charged for damages.
Those who forget to wear the chip will not be placed.

IMPORTANT!!!
ACCESSING THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE COMPETITION ROUTE WITHOUT CHIP AND/OR BIB IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
THE ORGANIZATION DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY, BOTH CIVIL AND PENAL, FOR INJURIES CAUSED TO PEOPLE AND/OR DAMAGE CAUSED TO THINGS BY THOSE RUNNING ALONG THE ROUTE WITHOUT HAVING DULY ENTERED THE COMPETITION AND WHO ARE NOT IN POSSESSION OF CHIPS AND/OR BIBS.
THE ORGANIZERS FURTHER RESERVE THE RIGHT TO KEEP PEOPLE WITHOUT CHIPS AND/OR BIBS AWAY FROM THE ROUTE AND TO LEGALLY PROSECUTE THEM ON THE BASIS OF THE LEGITIMATE SUPPOSITION THAT SUCH PERSONS CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ORGANIZATION AND UNLAWFULLY STEAL ASSETS AND SERVICES FROM IT.

MEDAL
The medal will be distributed by appointed staff, located directly at the competition finish area, only to those who have completed the race and have been entered in the ratings.


ENTRY FEE REFUND
The entry fee cannot be refunded for any reason.

POSTPONEMENTS
Athletes unable to take part can ask the Secretariat to postpone their entries until the Marathon 2017, This request can only be accepted if sent by email to iscrizioni@maratonaditalia.it together with the payment of a contribution of 10 Euro.
Non fax requests are accepted. Postponement confirmation will be sent by email by the Secretariat.
All postponement requests must arrive by 30/09/2016 at latest.
After such date, postponement requests will no longer be accepted, however serious the reason put forward.
The decision not to take part in the Marathon 2016 shall result in the entire fee paid being forfeited.
Entries can only be postponed for one edition. Athletes unable to take part in the 2015 competition shall not be entitled to postpone their entries further.
In case of an athlete not taking part in the competition, the entry fee will not be refunded for any reason whatsoever.

SUBSTITUTIONS
Substitutions between already-entered athletes can be accepted. Written requests must be sent to the secretariat by 20/09/2015 at the latest, together with the payment of a 10.00 euro contribution.
A written declaration of whosoever yields his/her entry must be sent together with the entry form of the substitute.

CHANGING COMPETITIONS ( Marathon-Half Marathon – 30km)
Marathon, half marathon and 30 km are distinct events, with different entry fees, services, bib numbers, placings and prizes. Once entry has been made IT IS NOT POSSIBLE to change the competition chosen at the time of entering the competition. Anyone wanting to change competition is advised to ask for postponement until 2016 for the entry already made and to make a new entry for the competition in which he/she wants to take part, or else to transfer his/her entry to a friend and thus retrieve the fee paid.
Athletes who do not complete the route of the competition they have entered will not be listed in any rating and will be “not placed”.

STARTING GRIDS
The bib number will be assigned on the basis of the declaration of personal data on the entry form.
Assigned to the First Grid will be the Top Runners and Athletes with a time below 2:50. The following grids will be created according to entry date.
The race time will be calculated from actual transit over the start line (Real Time).
The organizers reserve the right to make random checks of the Marathon time “Record achieved in last 3 years” declared by the athletes at the time of entering the competition.

PERSONAL CLOTHING
A shuttle service will be organized at the start line in Maranello for the collection of all the athletes’ bags which will then be redistributed at the finish area of the chosen competition.
To withdraw the bag, the bib must be shown.
Though every care will be taken during the service, the organizers disclaim all liability for any loss or damage to belongings, and consequently no refunds will be made.

REFRESHMENTS FOR ALL ATHLETES
In accordance with FIDAL and IAAF regulations refreshments for all athletes duly entered in the competition are provided every 5 km. The first two: still San Benedetto mineral water (small bottles and cups). From the third to the eighth refreshment point: still San Benedetto mineral water (small bottles and cups), energy drink, salts, sugars and solid foods. The last refreshment point is located near the finish line.
THE ORGANIZATION WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING UP THE REFRESHMENT POINTS, COLLECTING UP ALL WASTES LEFT BY THE ATHLETES. DESPITE THIS HOWEVER, THE ATLETES SHOULD TAKE EVERY CARE TO LOOK AFTER THE ENVIRONMENT AND CORRECTLY DISCARD FOOD AND DRINKS IN THE BINS PROVIDED NEAR THE REFRESHMENT POINTS.
Any improper behavior in this respect will be punished by disqualification from the competition.

PERSONAL REFRESHMENTS: Any personal refreshments must be handed over to the operators in the start area, at least 40 minutes before the competition begins.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND BROOM WAGON
Medical assistance is provided by the Italian Red Cross, with fixed first-aid stations located every 5 kilometres and in the finish area with emergency first aid. The broom wagon which follows the competition is charged with collecting up any drop-outs and accompanying them to the finish.

PRIZE-GIVING
- At each finish line, the first three placed athletes will be presented with a prize (Marathon, Half-Marathon and 30 km.
- The Maratona d’Italia Enzo Ferrari Memorial Open Amateur Championship for athletes who run the marathon, half marathon and 30km distance ONLY will be awarded prizes in the finish area.
- The prizes of the special “Can you do the 42?” race will be awarded in the Sports fair in Carpi.

TIME-KEEPING SERVICE
Time-keeping is assigned to TDS. Time taking and place processing will be done using a transponder (chip)-based system Athletes who detach or damage the chip will not be timed and will not be ranked.
The chip must be fastened to bib number and must be returned at the end of the competition.
Any chips not handed over on the Sunday must be sent to the secretariat by 31/10/2016, otherwise 20.00 euro will be charged to the competitor for damage payment.
Whoever forgets to wear the chip will not be included in the rankings.

COMPLAINTS
Any complaints must be lodged in writing within 30 minutes of the end of the competition directly to the Referee Judge, accompanied by a fee of 30.00 euro, which will be refunded if the complaint is upheld.

STATEMENT OF LIABILITY
By signing the entry form and filling in the online form, the competitor declares he/she has read the Maratona d’Italia regulations (Marathon, Half Marathon and 30km ) published on the www.italianmarathon.it website and that he/she was over 20 years of age on 11/10/2016 and that he/she is in possession of a suitable medical certificate certifying he/she is able to take part in the competitions. The competitor also declares under his/her own responsibility not only that he/she has told the truth (art.2 law no.15 of 4/1/1968 as amended by art. 3 of law no. 127 dated 15/5/1997), but also that he/she holds the organizers harmless of any liability, both civil and criminal, for injury to people and/or damage to things caused by him/her or suffered by him/her.
The same goes for those who send their entries by online form, letter or facsimile.
Pursuant to the consolidated law on privacy no. 196/2003, you are informed that collected personal data will only be used to draw up a list of participants, for placings, to carry out all the services indicated by the regulations and to send advertising material or information regarding the Maratona d’Italia, side events and event partners.
To cancel or amend your data, please send a written request to info@maratonaditalia.it.
You also declare you are entering the competition voluntarily and that you accept all the risks deriving from participation in the competition: falls, collisions with vehicles, with other participants, spectators, etc., weather conditions, including torrid heat, extreme cold and/or humidity, traffic and road conditions, all types of well-known risks assessed by you.
The competition will be held in any weather condition, except in the case of natural disasters or cancellation by the competent Authorities, in which case the entry fees will not be refunded.
The organizers decline all liability for any accidents of any kind occurring before, during and after the event, to athletes and accompanying persons, including when authorized to follow the athletes along the route, and to things belonging to them. For everything not contemplated, FIDAL regulations shall apply. The participants shall also be liable for any accidents caused by them.
The competitor further declares exempting from liability and holding harmless the Organizing Committee of the Maratona d’Italia, the A.S.D. Maratona d’Italia Sport, the promoting bodies, the Council and Provincial Authorities involved in the transit of the competition, the Regional Administration of Emilia Romagna, all the Sponsors of the event, their respective representatives, successors, executives, directors, members, agents and clerks of the Companies taking part in the organization of the events, as regards all present and future claims or liabilities of any kind, known or unknown, deriving from participation in the competition.

IMAGE RIGHTS
By signing the entry form, the competitor expressly authorizes the organizers to use, free of charge, the fixed and/or moving images, portraying him/her during his/her participation in the Maratona d’Italia and side events, on all visual media and on promotional and/or advertising material produced and distributed worldwide and for all the maximum time provided by laws, regulations and treaties in force, including any extension made to the provided period. The organizers shall be entitled to transfer to their institutional and commercial partners the rights to use the images provided by this agreement. This authorization to use the above images shall be deemed given for an open-ended period of time, in accordance with the laws, the regulations and the treaties in force and without territorial limits worldwide; for use in various types of publications and films, including but not restricted to promotional and/or advertising materials on any type of media.

We wish to remind you that the website www.italianmarathon.it is regularly updated with latest news and any changes to timetables, services, etc., which will be promptly published.
The organizers reserve the right to change the regulations in force at any time.
The above website is the official source of information for the event and consequently all official notices will be made known through such website; we therefore suggest checking the information on the website on a daily basis.

COMPETITION CANCELLATION
In the event of the competition being cancelled, postponed until a later date and/or, in any case, not staged for reasons beyond the control of the Organizers, including the revocation of permission to run the race by the competent public bodies, the entrant shall have no claim to make against the Asd Maratona d’Italia Sport, not even as regards the refund of the costs sustained. The signing of the entry applications is also valid as the waiver of any damage refund and/or indemnity claim and/or any reintegration and/or release claim of any patrimonial damage suffered and being suffered.
